Natural Light Studio and a FREE portrait shoot.

Spring! Is it really here?  I really think it is.  I adore spring.. in my opinion it is the best of all the seasons, everything is lush and fresh and new.

Speaking of new… I have a new studio!  Well, when I say ‘new’ it’s actually very, very old and when I say ‘studio’ well, it’s isn’t your traditional run-of-the-mill studio either.  Ok, let me explain…

This little corner of Warwickshire has had a re-vamp over the last 18 months since we bought the house and land.  The house is still patiently waiting for it’s turn for a makeover but the orchard and meadow has been cleared (almost) of thistles, nettles, rubble and lots of rubbish and is now a place that offers many opportunities for some beautiful portrait sessions.  The last of the apple blossom has just fallen from the trees but last week has seen an explosion of buttercups.  Not only are there endless opportunities for photographs here but a session here is tremendous fun too.

So, as it happens a space has become available this weekend so I thought to celebrate the arrival of spring and the buttercups I would offer up this session as a free one.

This image was taken last weekend at the orchard.

So, whether it be an engament session, a teen portrait, a family portrait etc then this is the perfect opportunity!

This free session is strictly first come, first served.  Is for from one to five people, will last approximately 1.5 hours and includes session time and image processing only.  Should anything prevent the session from going ahead this weekend the ‘free’ offer will not be transferable and this offer can not be used alongside any other previously purchased packages.

May I ask why you’re offering a free session? Sounds great but I’m a bit camera shy, would rather be behind the lens than in front! :) x

I am so excited for you!! – Your orchard is amazing and I can’t wait to see it with my own eyes!! xxx

Bluebell Woods – Coton Manor

The weather on saturday was absolutely beautiful.  just how it should be on a weekend in May.  Fluffly clouds, blue skies, light wind, not too hot, not too cold.. perfection.  Just to make it even more perfect I had a photoshoot with this lovely family.

Mark and Jenny are getting married in just a few weeks so here is their pre-wedding/ family shoot.  We had a fab time and little J is quite the photographer, you know! (and cute as a button but that goes without saying!)

On another note I will be posting today or tomorrow about the possibility of a free photoshoot* this weekend (zero session fee) as a space has become available and to celebrate what can only be described as an explosion of buttercups at my outdoor studio.  If you are interested, please get in touch.

(*if session cancelled due to weather/ other reasons free session is not transferable to another date.)

Louise & Steven

So as you may know, I love a good story.  When I shoot a wedding I want to capture the essence of the whole day, the build up the atmosphere, the details and emotion.  It’s crucial to me that whilst the style, theme or look of the wedding is important, what really makes it are the people and their story.  Last year I was thrilled to receive an email from Louise asking if I would shoot her wedding in May 2012.  Louise and I were at boarding school together some years back and shared a dorm for a couple of years too.   So Louise and Steve’s big day came around super fast and I headed down to beautiful Pembrokeshire last week.

From the minute I walked in I felt so welcomed by this warm and caring family.  Louise has three sisters and being from a military family they moved around a lot as children (as did I) but they always had this beautiful family home in Pembrokeshire as their base for holidays and happy family times.  Two of Louise’s sisters have also had their weddings here and you can sense that is really is a very special place and very close to their hearts indeed.

As you will see the wedding just oozed understated elegance and the love between Steve and Louise was evident to all.  Louise’s mum had to keep reminding her to slow down… I think she would have sprinted down the aisle to Steve if she could have.  There are a lot of images in this post, I must admit but I couldn’t resist. I’ll let the images tell the story from here.  So I headed down through the gorgeous (and tiny) city of St.David’s to meet Steve who was having brunch with friends at the local pub…

April Training at Aspire: Part 2

The morning was pretty chilly, I have to be honest but the models were great fun.  The afternoon did brighten up a little and we were lucky enough to be able to photograph this lovely family.  We had a giggle running around the grounds of Aspire and in the woods looking for dens and looking at the photographs posted by many of the students, we all got some fabulous images xx

Training at Aspire

Last week I was back up to the lovely Lake District training a group of wonderful students at Aspire Photographic Training on their A-Z course.  Despite feeling more like November, the rain still held off (mostly) and we had a great day shooting an engagement session in the morning and a family portrait session in the afternoon (pictures to follow).
